Born in 1954, and raised on Southern California horse ranches, John has worked and lived the experiences of his subjects. His paintings recreate a sense of place and time that are the result of hours of research and study of his subjects, their tools, wardrobe, accouterments, and history - this is the mark of a DeMott Painting. |

John, his wife Cindy, and their family own and operate a ranch near Loveland, Colorado. Having relocated to the Rocky Mountain West from southern California, John has wholeheartedly adopted a 'cowboy' lifestyle. John has a passion for a variety of subjects, from wildlife, to cowboys and Indians, to trappers and civil war scenes. John takes great pride in the accuracy of his work and insists that he study his subjects 'first hand' whenever possible.

"As a storyteller of the American frontier, western art has been an important part of my life and I am proud to be involved in the preservation of our great heritage!"
